CEREC Restorations
CEREC allows us to create and place custom, all-porcelain crowns and onlays in just one appointment. CEREC uses CAD/CAM technology to take impressions of your smile and mill perfectly fitting restorations that meet your unique dental needs in just 30 minutes. Then, we can bond the restoration to the tooth. CEREC creates natural-looking, aesthetically pleasing, and durable restorations that are comfortable to wear, while protecting the integrity of the remaining original tooth structure.
DIAGNOdent – Laser Cavity Detector
Sometimes, decay within the enamel and inside of the tooth is difficult or impossible to detect during a visual exam or with traditional x-ray technology. DIAGNOdent uses laser technology to find these hidden areas of decay. It is a pen-like instrument that we use to safely scan the teeth, with no pain or discomfort to the patient. It uses a number scale and alarm to alert us when it finds areas of decay, so we can determine a treatment plan designed to treat and save the tooth.
Schick Digital X-Rays
Digital x-rays expose patients to up to 90% less radiation as compared to traditional x-rays. Schick’s technology also allows us to produce sharp, clear images with no wait time. There is no need to use dangerous chemicals to develop film. Plus, we are able to easily view the images on a computer monitor and discuss our findings and recommendations with patients.
PLANMECA ProMax Panoramic X-Ray
This technology utilizes a software-driven robotic arm that allows us to create panoramic x-rays, as well as detect cavities, periodontal disease, and TMJ disorder. It offers more options and possibilities than any other x-ray system. Plus, it offers Transtomography®, a digital tomographic scanning program available only with Planmeca ProMax, to provide detailed images of maxillofacial features, which is helpful in various treatments such as dental implants.
Cone Beam 3D Imaging
To create an even more comprehensive view of your smile, we use cone beam 3D imaging technology. This helps us diagnose issues, create treatment plans, and more. We use cone beam imaging when 2D x-rays don’t provide the detail we need to provide effective treatment.
