A Note from Dr. Fridh
I had a successful neck repair surgery in June at Northwestern Hospital. I appreciate all the messages and even a few care packages sent my way, wishing me luck with my surgery. I was nervous, but I did have full confidence the surgeon would have steady hands, and after 11 hours in surgery, I am all put back together! After a week at Northwestern Hospital, I moved over to a physical therapy facility directed by Northwestern. I buzzed through the physical therapy sessions at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab, and I am now back at home! It feels so good to be back home with my wife, Marti, and my dogs: Maggie and Murphy, ok I missed the cats too; Spats and Gibbs. Now the next few weeks, I will be taking calls and answering emails from home, along with gearing up to come back into the office. You may have already seen me in and out of the office. I have been cleared to do hygiene checks one day a week. Hopefully, I will be released soon for full duty!
This August, my wife and I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary! It has been a beautiful ride. We have lived in Indianapolis, IN; Baudette, Minnesota; Biloxi, Mississippi; and, of course, La Porte, IN. We have three beautiful girls and three sons-in-law, along with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. We have had ten Irish settlers over the years and a few handfuls of cats. We have met some wonderful people and memories that turn into stories to tell our kids. But most of all, I’ve enjoyed our time and the life we have built together.
